The priest at the temple that Saru always went to allowed Saru to live at his temple. Because of this Saru grew up to be a very healthy boy. He was thought how to read and write by the priest and he was also a very athletic boy. Even though things are going very well for Saru, his country was suffering because the emperor of his land lost a war to another emperor. This resulted in putting many more people into poverty, and making the emperor paranoid of his follower.

The Boy and the
My inference about what would happen to Saru in the Boy and the Samurai was wrong. Instead of Saru the person that helped stop the robbers, the robber that got captured was invited to stay in the house. I would really like to know what was going through the heads of the people that owned the inn, because there is no reason to invite a convict that tried to rob them instead of the person that helped you. Also I would like to know how Saru feels right now because if that happened to me I would be angry at the people I helped and I would want revenge on them. But because Saru is living a totally different life than me and was faced with many letdowns I would not be surprised if he let it go.

The boy and the samurai
I think that this book is not very interesting because so far all that the main character has done was begging a lot of people for food. Or explain his experiences of getting food from a priest or inn keeper. But recently he had an experience where he and a bunch of people stopped a robbery. This was the most interesting part of the book and still it was really boring to read about. I think he will end up staying with the people that he helped and become a samurai.

The Boy and the Samurai
The last book I was reading was The Cobra Effect, ended up dropping this book because I did not want to read about the horrible deaths of people by diseases. The new book I chose was The Boy and the Samurai by Erik Christian Haugaard. The beginning of this book is very depressing because is about a young boy because an orphan by loosing his dad in a war and how he lives in these horrible conditions. But he was able to get a cat companion and they are like family. The most memorable moment of the book so far was when he jumped in front of an arrow to save his cats life. This is sort of weird for me because I can’t imagine risking my life for a cat.
